If you are Negative, then you will see negativity everywhere and in everything. Even if you wish to be the Torchbearer of Positive energy, you can't do so till the negativity is flowing from YOU. So, don't be deceived by your Ego and the games your mind plays with you. Ego wants pumping up, instead be honest to yourself & accept your reality with humility.
Remember :
1. The world is not a perfect place and if you are seeking perfection, then you would end up wasting a lot of time. We are all Perfectly Imperfect or Imperfectly perfect, put it whichever way you like. If you don't heal your bad feelings it will burn you out and suck you in. In order to heal, one needs to first identify what are the areas that need healing. Once that's done, you need to forgive yourself for all the mistakes you have made and also feel grateful as suffering is a big teacher. Tell yourself that you are already amazing and a unique creation of the Universe. On a daily basis you can be more and more awesome. There is no end to it and this search only keeps on making a person ascend higher and higher.
2. The one thing to never forget is that YOU are creating your reality everyday. You can attract whatever you like and want. Nothing can come in your way. But it's you who has to do it & attention is a skill that you need to learn to be able to master what you want to create. Once you are on the Path, there is no turning around. Most importantly, you should never try to escape from your shadows. Escapism is a big trap that can deceive anyone with all the pleasures and paradises it can offer, but its full of pain & suffering. The sooner you realise it, the better it would be for you.
Shadows need to be accepted, cleansed and healed, because it's only your loss to live in the negative reality that you have created for yourself through a range of chronicle thought patterns. The world will continue with or without you.
Ask yourself this basic questions when in Doubt: -
"Do I want to disappear like I never mattered or existed or Do I want to be the Game Changer, the Winner, the One who has the killer instinct and the power to be a True Master who can slay all the demons that exist in the Human Mind?"
The choice is yours to turn the Demons into your loyal & faithful servants and put them to good work, make the demons do what they cannot even imagine. Show them their capabilities, their potentials, after all demons are also suffering, they are miserable but once they are directed into thinking good thoughts you will realise that it was YOU all along who gave birth to these Demons. So set them Free and then offer them to be a coach for you, a friend and tell them their criticism won't be tolerated by you and they will get your attention only when they give uplifting and constructive feedback.
You are the Beast looking for your Beauty who can transform you into the Prince who will soon be the King and rule the Kingdom of Peace within, with his Queen by his side... You are the Snow-white who with the help of seven little dwarfs slayed the powerful evil witch who took away her throne. If you can bring out the beast in you, you can also bring out the beauty within. IT'S ALWAYS YOU.

Also one can learn from any story, any fairytale, any movie or a TV show or simple people around you like a shopkeeper, a tea seller, a fisherman, anyone who has a gleaming smile and strong will to change all odds into a success story can teach you. It's never too late. And then, You CAN create your own story, a path for other seekers to walk on. You have it in you, you Can and you WILL.
