Healing benefits of Psilocybe Cubensis could create Breakthrough in Treatment
A psilocybin mushroom is a group of Fungi that contains any of the various psychedelic compounds including psilocybin, psilocin and baeocystin. In popular culture the Common names for psilocybin mushrooms include booms, magic mushrooms, shrooms, and mush. People see it to be just a recreational drug while its actually a potent healing substance. Since it's perceived by most users as a source of fun, they are not comfortable going through what it reveals and some of them can get paranoid and unwilling to go beyond the experience and mention having a bad trip. However, all the people who benefitted highly from it mentioned being open and relaxed and ready to go through whatever happens. A negative atmosphere and fearful unwilling people around can also contribute to a bad trip or a no trip at all.

As per history magic mushrooms were used in religious rituals 6000 years ago. The art at the Tassel cave in southern Algeria are as old as 7,000 to 9,000 years old & though it doesn't mention that it clearly is psilocybin but the sculptures are quite interesting. Hallucinogenic mushrooms were also known to be used in 3,000 years ago on Mexico by natives in ritualistic ceremonies and healing. Magic Mushrooms were banned by the Europeans around the 17th Century and the reason were they never wanted to natives to flourish and grow. There is a lot of content on Magic Mushroom along with a mention of Jesus and his ministry using psychedelics to cure diseases. Its also known to many people that Jesus used Cannabis and mind altering substances to heal people.

A scientific reason( Quantum Mysticism) of why Psilocybe is a healing substance is because first of all it doesn't have any physical or psychological dependence (addiction) unlike LSD or other extremely harmful chemicals & substance that can give people a high but are extremely addictive in nature. Lack of dependence makes it work better to show what the soul needs for it's evolution.
Revival by Scientists :
Even though Magic Mushrooms were present around the hippie culture but scientifically it was revived in late 1990's. It's presence is increasing in the scientific community and many researchers marvel at it's greatness.
A famous story 'Alice In Wonderland' written by Lewis Carroll mentions magic mushrooms. The initial narrative shows Alice consuming pieces of mushrooms and experiences changing in size. So, it's a clear possibility that the 'Wonderland' that Alice experienced was due to magic mushrooms that she ate in the wild. Since it's a fictional story we can understand that it was actually the writer of this novel who could have possessed knowledge about Magic Mushrooms.
The therapeutic potential of Magic Mushrooms are hard to ignore and it has spiritual connection too. Overall, there are fewer side-effects of Psilocybe.
One of the key reasons that Magic Mushrooms heal greatly is because it's capable of giving the consumer a feeling of heightened or total inclusion and oneness. A state of euphoria, that's detached from your current Ego. During the peak performance the Ego is fully removed and the identity appears more to be of a helper and vehicle for the Soul and it’s purpose on planet Earth. You could feel powerful in a loving manner guided by the emotions of awe and wonder. When you are back from the experience you would have a sense of admiration and gratitude and knowledge that the world we normally live in is fickle and full of illusions where people create situations in order to validate existence, massage their Ego and there is genuinely no need for doing so. Planet Earth is important because it's center point from where the highest ascension is possible.
Duration: The effects of Magic Mushrooms can last between 3 to 8 hours depending on the dosage, preparation method and a person's very own metabolism. During the peak hours the consumer would experience vivid and clear visuals and reality distortions. However, the effects can seem to last much longer to the user because of psilocybin's ability to alter time perception. During my Pokhara stay I met a couple and one of them mentioned experiencing the effects of psilocybin after many days of consuming it. He experienced having the mini trip again after few months without even consuming it which lasted for a few minutes (15-20 mins) and during that time he kept stroking and admiring a cat and was extremely taken over by what a great creator the Universe is.
